In principle, a setback is nothing else than a chance to start again

Preparing for life with resilience

Resilience is the ability to overcome challenges and crises on your own and emerge stronger from them. Resilient people are less sensitive to physical pressures such as stress or frustration and can therefore think and act more flexibly and solution-oriented in difficult situations. Resilience is therefore extremely important when overcoming problems is an issue. These can be major hurdles, such as sudden life changes or strokes of fate, but also issues in everyday life. Because as much as we all long for a life without stress, disruptions are inevitably part of our daily routine. This makes it all the more important to learn the right way to deal with stress and frustration. And this is exactly what targeted coaching to build resilience does.

Resilient people are characterized by three basic traits: optimism, acceptance and solution orientation.

Resilience can be learned

Learning resilience is possible for everyone, but requires the willingness to work on yourself continuously. Looking at and for your own effectiveness is of crucial importance. What matters is not what happens to you in life, but how you deal with it. Resilience does not prevent you from being exposed to risks or difficulties. But it equips you with the ability to perceive problems differently, to be more resilient. And that in the truest sense of the word. Time and time again, it has been shown that resilience plays a major role in dealing with illness (your own or that of loved ones) and can make a decisive contribution to the healing process.

Building resilience is often equated with health coaching, but strictly speaking it is only one
aspect of health coaching.

The following factors play a decisive role in resilience:

  • Personal responsibility and the conviction that you can influence your own life
  • Acceptance of problem situations and the willingness to face up to these situations
  • Optimism and confidence in one’s own strengths
  • Solution-oriented thinking and action
  • Future orientation and the ability to let go of the past
  • Self-efficacy and certainty that you can help yourself
  • Integration in and strengthening through social networks (friends, family, groups)

RESILIENCE COACHING

For private individuals

Stress and problems lurk everywhere. At work as well as in private life. With the help of your CEE coach, you will learn to deal with difficult situations in a solution-oriented and positive way. General insecurity, fear of change or excessive demands, exhaustion, the feeling of no longer being able to cope with professional or private pressure – none of these are unchangeable conditions, but problems that you can tackle and eliminate yourself. Resilience coaching supports you along the way. On the one hand as support and orientation in acute crisis situations, but also by helping you to prepare for future crisis situations.

The following skills are specifically
trained and promoted:

  • Goal- and solution-oriented handling of conflicts and stress
  • Reflecting on your own strengths
  • Remaining calm even in critical situations
  • Coping with crises, problems and failures
  • Understanding crises and stressful situations as opportunities and emerging stronger from them
  • Physical and mental strength and ability to act

RESILIENCE COACHING

For companies

Conflicts within the team, uncertainty due to changes in processes or tasks or simply fear of excessive demands or job loss – there are always stress factors within companies that affect one or other employee and ultimately the quality of the company as a whole. When used in a targeted manner, resilience coaching can make a valuable contribution to overcoming internal company problems or preventing them from arising in the first place.

Concrete advantages for companies are

  • Strengthening collegiality among employees
  • Constructive handling of stress within the team and for each individual employee
  • High quality internal conflict management
  • High-performing and solution-oriented employees

Resilience coaching offer – the individual steps at a glance

Resilience coaching by CEE experts can be provided for individuals or teams. As a rule, the coaching goes through four phases.

IDENTIFICATION OF STRESS FACTORS AND STRESSORS

It is determined what exactly the stress consists of or what intensifies it. The client’s professional and private environment is taken into account.

ANALYSIS OF THE BEHAVIOR

Here we analyze how the client deals with stressful situations. What are his mental and physical reactions? How does he feel? What thoughts and images do they have?

SELF-REFLECTION AND IDENTIFICATION OF POTENTIAL

What individual options are there to counteract, compensate for or even avoid unwanted stress reactions? What inner traps or behavioral patterns need to be avoided or broken?

TARGET DEFINITION

At the end of the coaching session, the client and the CEE coach have developed measures that are expedient and useful for the client in terms of building resilience. If desired, the CEE coach can also accompany the client along the path to achieving their goals.

The aim of coaching is to enable the client(s) to build up or expand their resilience in a self-care-manner and by using their own skills and talents.
